Matriculation

To qualify for part-time matriculation of Heriot-Watt University, student must hold at least one of the following qualifications:

  1. A degree with first or second class honours of Heriot-Watt University;
  2. A degree with first or second class honours of any other University or institution of higher education recognised by Heriot-Watt University;
  3. Pass examinations in two core modules;
  4. Any other qualification deemed by the University Senate to be acceptable.

Students are advised to complete Programme Entry Form upon commencement of the studies. The completed form has to be returned to the English School of Business (ESB), together with one current passport sized photograph. If the student is applying for matriculation on the basis of previous qualifications, he/she must also submit certified photocopies of the qualification that is considered relevant. If the student is not eligible for immediate registration, the application will be held on file and he/she will be enrolled when completing two core modules.

Student ID and Registration Numbers:
Upon commencement of the programme the students are allocated a Student Identification Number (SID) and a Registration Number (RegNo). The numbers are used as access codes to the Course Websites and Student Services.

Enrolment

Students can join one of our three annual intakes set for the months of February, August and December.  Interested candidates are kindly required to enrol at least one month before the commencement of each trimester of lectures.

Heriot-Watt University received its Royal Charter in 1966. This is granted by the British government and ensures that universities and their programmes meet very high academic standards. Most countries, including the US and Canada, are happy to accept the standard of degrees awarded by universities in Great Britain as equivalent to their own.
