Master of Business Administration Studies

The only certainty in today’s commercial and political climate is change.  It is, therefore, imperative that we are not only capable to assimilate the challenges that are presented but also that we capitalise on them.  We, at ESB, looked long and hard to find a rigorous, challenging and above all career orientated programme that sets new standards in postgraduate business education.  We believe we found a unique and flexible offering;
The Heriot-Watt University / Edinburgh Business School Master of Business Administration Degree is a highly successful programme preferred by employees of many blue-chip multinational corporations.

Key Objectives
The MBA programme enables students to:

  1. Gain knowledge of subjects fundamental to management,
  2. Develop analytical skills indispensable in problem solving and decision-making,
  3. Understand the process of management and human behaviour in organisations, and
  4. Gain insights into the business, economic, social and political environments that affect the ever-changing commercial world.

The English School of Business is approved to provide administrative and academic services by offering tuition in English language with Heriot-Watt approved tutors.

Career Orientation
Uniquely, our MBA Programme is structured to allow the greatest possible flexibility of awards so as to closely fit with personal and career objectives.

  1. Students who successfully complete the 7 core modules and any 2 electives are eligible for the award of the MBA Degree conferred by Heriot-Watt University.
  2. Students have the opportunity to receive interim qualifications en route to the MBA: the Postgraduate Certificate and Specialist Postgraduate Diploma.
  3. Also, a specialist MBA degree can be obtained in one of the following five areas; Finance, Marketing, Human Resource Management, Strategic Planning and Public Administration

Flexibility
Through alternative study options students are able to complete a world class Distance Learning MBA here in Belgrade at a pace that allows for different needs and circumstances.
The programme’s built-in flexibility is especially attractive to executives who are internationally mobile as well as those who feel that their career objectives may be changing.  Our programme’s unique learning environment combined with alternative study option is one of the features that existing students are finding particularly attractive.
Programmes are available in a range of study modes including:

  1. At English School of Business where students study using the course texts, online resources and receive highly relevant tuition and revision classes from ESB’s local and international tutors.
  2. Self-study, where students study independently using the course materials, course texts and online resources;
  3.  On-campus in Edinburgh (full or part-time).

Premises/Facilities
We offer purpose designed lecture and tutorial rooms conveniently located at the heart of Belgrade City. A computer room with networked workstations is available together with a library equipped with highly relevant books suitable for programme studies.

Finance
We recognise that choosing to start a course is a commitment on resources.  To help ease concerns and problems of timing we might be able to assist in arranging more convenient finance options through one of the banks we work with.

Matriculation
To qualify for matriculation of Heriot-Watt University, student must hold a university degree (or an equivalent qualification) and/or sufficient relevant work experience. Prospective students with no university degree qualification may also attend as non-matriculated students by the successful completion of two courses.

Enrolment
The students can join one of our three annual intakes, in February, August and December.
ESB is organising lectures for all seven core modules to take place during one calendar year, allowing the students to attend all core subjects and thus complete the studies during a period of one to three years.

Examinations

These are held every June and December in Belgrade.  In addition, examinations for selected subjects are also held in centres across Europe every March and August.  The courses are examined and assessed in English.  The invigilators from British Council in Belgrade supervise our examinations.
